I'm having problems with my 2002 odysses locking in park. Have had this happen 3 times, it's in the shop as we speak. I start the van and I step on the brake and try to engage the shifter to drive and it won't move out of park. Dealer coudn't get it to do it. They replaced the brake switch, and shift lock solenoid and 8 days later it did it again. They say they can't trace it unless it's happening. The last time I refered to manual and popped the plug off the steering column and reset a switch or somthing and it would then move into drive. When I turned the engine off and tried to restart it woudn't go into drive, had to reset again. The car has about 8,500 miles on it and this is getting very frustrating never mind having your family in it (3 kids seven and under) and you can't move not to mention the money and the wait for the vehicle. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution? thanks

Mine hasn't stuck in park yet. But sometimes it is harder than others to shift out of park. It has nothing to do with the way I apply the parking brake. I hear a strange snap noise in the steering column before the problem happens. I wonder if my problem is related to yours. Hopefully the shop can fix without much more hassel to you. Good luck and let us know.

My 04 Odyssey gave me the same troubles. I replaced the brake light switch, and changed all my taillight bulbs.....including the extra brake light at the top of the rear hatch. I also replaced every fuse in the hood & driver/passenger fuse boxes. Hope this helps good luck.
