Spark plug change to Ruthenium

Friend bought 8 of the NGK Ruthenium plugs and asked if I wanted the extra. I joked and asked did you think you got a V8? I bought four addtional and installed them today. I had the ring job done little before 120K and I am at 200K. I have been using the VMC Turner II for 80k and I think the plugs look ok? I did noticed some of the threads have some junk on them. I am guessing the spark plug tubes? Anything I should be worried about based on the plugs?

The gunk on the threads looks like (way too much) anti-seize. On modern auto spark plugs, this is no longer necessary as the threads are coated. Just install dry.

That's a lot of oil. Combined with the clogged cat, I have to wonder if your VCM is still active. Are those plugs from the rear bank (1-3)? If so, I would disable/muzzle it. You will no longer get oily plugs and clogged cats.
Honda replaced spark plugs 1-4 as part of the ring job. I thought it might be what was left over when they did the ring job and did not clean up the threads. I hope to get another 100K miles out of the van. Buying a new car has become less of a clown show but it still crazy.
