Towing 2400 lbs with no trans cooler is asking for trouble and it doesn't take an hour to overheat the transmission fluid causing damage. That can happen in 10 minutes or less under the right circumstances. It shouldn't cost more than $2-300 to have an aftermarket trans cooler installed at a transmission shop. Skip the OEM cooler as it isn't all that good anyway.

Here http://www.handa-accessories.com/odyssey/05tow.pdf are the instructions for installing the OEM tow package that show how to remove the front bumper cover. After that it is just a matter of hooking into the transmission lines right by the radiator and securing the cooler to radiator. Pretty simple really.

Per Honda a power steering cooler is also part of the official towing package. Of course there are varying opinions on the necessity of it, but if you buy the package from a dealer it is included.
