TPMS module light on

Not the low tire pressure light that looks like a tire, but the one that says TPMS. It came on last weekend, went off once and then came back on. I checked all my tires and they were all at 28 so I got them back to spec. but the light is still on. I read a thread on here about someone who had the same issue and bought a tool from Autozone or somewhere that was like a torque wrench for the valve stems and that solved his issue. But I cannot find the thread now, so If someon3e can point me to that tool, i would like to give it a try before tryign to locate and replace the TPMS modules.

The TPMS is the tire monitoring system.
Does yours display psi per tire?

Have you ever replaced your sensors within you tires?
If not, your batteries are dying.

I have not with my 2008, and I am now experiencing the same TPMS display failure. fwiw.

TPMS displayed, yet tire pressure ok.
I know it is due to my ignorance not to install new sensors within the tires, at last tire install.
I only have myself to blame.
I feel like an idiot.

How do you feel?

I concur with the above. The tire symbol with the ! in the middle means it senses one of your tires is low. This also indicates a fully functional system, as the sensor is transmitting a signal.

The TPMS light on the dash, means it has lost communication with 1 or more of the sensors. In an unlikely event, the TPMS on the dash "may" indicate a failure in the TPMS module in the car. More likely, it's one of the tire sensors having a dead battery.

I learned this when I put on snow tires last year w/o TPMS sensors. I thought I would have the tire symbol. But I had the TPMS on the dash.

This year, I put sensors inside my tires.

A shop, or a DIY'r with a TPMS tool can easily determine which tire sensor has failed. And if one has failed due to age, the others will be right behind.

If your TPMS sensors are original, they are the problem. Your local tire shop can scan them and tell you which one. As has been posted already, TPMS the words lit up means there is a problem with the system and the most likely cause is one or more sensors' batteries low or dead.
