I own a 2008 ody touring. 113,000 miles. After reading multiple posts about VCM problems; I'M NERVOUS! What muzzler is best and EASIEST to install.....or should I leave well enough alone???
Also, what indications of failing VCM should I look for.
Thank you

I think the easiest to install is probably the VCMuzzler II.
It is a passive resistance device. Other muzzlers offer more features but may be a tad more difficult to install. They all are good and all come with installation instructions.
Do not hesitate to muzzle your VCM.

I just installed the S-VCM yesterday and it took maybe 10 minutes. The hardest part was the zip tying! I believe all of the VCM muzzling devices are installed essentially the same way. Plenty of posts here and on YouTube showing the installation.

I don't think VCM "fails," it just stresses other components as described in basically every other post on this forum. I installed the S-VCM because I didn't like ominous feel of the occasional faint driveline "lurches" when the VCM disengages. My motor mounts are still good, but VCM is hard on them. I also didn't appreciate the cheesy ECO light coming on and going off all the time. The negligible increase in MPG from VCM operation hardly warrants an "ECO" light. I'll be comparing my pre-muzzled MPG to my post-muzzled MPG this weekend on a trip to SC and I'll be surprised if there is any difference.
