I picked up the long-neck funnel at the Honda parts department when buying the ATF. It was not expensive and fits pretty easily to the filler port. You might be able to find same at your local dealership parts dept. I've got a 3rd gen so not sure if access is the same however.

When I got filler bolt off first three times, I used a 1 foot scrap of 1/2" PVC pipe then put a funnel in that (it fit PERFECT in fill hole). On FORTH time I could not BUDGE filler cap even though I had it off three times! I wasted over and hour trying to budge it and even had a 5 foot cheater pipe (steel conduit scrap). I put so much force on it I was worried I would crack case, only THEN did I try funnel trick (out of desperation). HUGE fan now of funnel trick.

How about a turkey baster (minus the squeeze bulb) pushed onto the funnel..
That’s exactly what I use, I duct tape the baster to the funnel just so it doesn’t slip out. Just did my 2010 this past weekend. Slow pouring but has worked well for me for 200k miles.

Last time I did a transmission fluid change in a 4th gen Odyssey (relative's 2016, not ours) the funnels I had on hand really did not work well and I made a mess. I filled through the dipstick tube because the fill plug was stuck. It was its first ever transmission fluid change at 70k miles, they didn't know the change interval and yes even with just a single drain and fill it shifts much better! I told them it needs done again soon but they're busy and I think they forgot. I'll have to remind them.

Anyway, what funnel combination works well for you guys with the 6 speed, whether through fill port or through dipstick? I've dug around a few times and saw remarks about things but nothing seemed conclusive as to "this funnel works for the port on top" or whatever.

I may just buy a few different ones and see what fits.
I have a Harbor Freight store near me. They sell a funnel small enough to fit between the firewalls and he air box with a 2foot neck to reach the fill hole on the transmission. That works great on my ’07.

I guess I'm the only one who uses a homemade paper funnel for the dipstick tube. Use a pencil as a form to roll a sheet of printer paper and scotch tape it tight. Toss when done. Drawback is that you must pour slowly and carefully to avoid spillage but it has worked for me for years.

The Hopkins “Measu-Funnel” is tried and true. The output tube fits just right over the dipstick tube. Get the one with the coffee-cup style handle, listed at Walmart. The one on Amazon is the “upgraded” version that is clumsy to handle, and a failure in my opinion. See the pic of same posted by DrD at #13, above.
