What is the orange light near the Homelink?

On Touring models that have the Homelink option there is a small orange light on the panel. What exactly is this for? Is it just to give you small illumination at night?

Owner's manual says nothing about it.

You got it raymondjiii,

It is very subtle but executed well. You notice it slightly on the cd player, but mainly on the center console. It is just enough to break the darkness, but is not at all pinpoint, very diffused.

"The courtesy light between the map lights comes on when you turn the parking lights on. To adjust its brightness, turn the Select/Reset knob on the instrument panel."

And us EXers have it too! I put my hand up near it so the light reflects and I can see where the Homelink button is!
