Hello,

Been using only Fram filter since my first car. Would like to know which brand are you guys using? Thinking to try OEM Honda since it is made in Japan and Fram is made in China.

I use and recommend the Honda OEM oil filter. Try to find the old “A01” Honda filter made by Filtech. You can still find them on line. Most places, including Honda dealers, use the new, but inferior, A02 filter.
Full part number is 15400-PLM-A01.

Anything but FRAM....lol. I stay away from some otherwise buy what I can get easily. Sometimes I buy a bunch off Rockauto when they are cheap.

K&N, HP1010. Great filter, no cardboard or glue in it, strong body ( thats important, because I already experienced Fram filter cracked on the side, while driving on Hwy), has a 1 inch hex on it, for easy removal.

I use the Filtech Honda filters. Other brands are OK but don't use the cheapest one you can find.

I’ve used Frame Ultra Synthetic and I think they are fine filter. I sometimes also used Honda and KN filter depends on if they are onsale. Walmart carry frame synthetic for cheap so I usually picked them up. I also used Wix, Purolator and M1 on other cars too. As long as you don’t get the cheap ones you’re fine. I like Frame because I do handtighten so the texture on Frame makes it easier to remove by just cranking the wheel to the right, reach it and turn. I normally change oil around 5k.

I wont claim I am an expert on filters, but I service a few cars and cut apart every filter after its used.
Personally, I settled on Wix filters, also available as Napa Gold. You can get them at reasonable prices at RockAuto.
In regards to Honda filters, A01 is solid stuff, A02 is nearly same as basic Fram, except for better anti drainback valve.
K&N and Mobil 1 are literally the same filter inside. The K&N goofy useless hex on top does nothing to help in removal
of the filter, but I have seen pics of the weld spots rusting.
But aside from that, either one is a solid filter, however more expensive. I only get them on oil special deals.
Fram Ultra is also great filter with solid construction but also more expensive than Wix, not so with two lower level FRAMs.
Whoever said Mann, boy, you can't be more wrong making a blanket statement like that.
Mann has euro filters with are top notch, and I use them all the time for Eurotrash I service, but then they also make basic filters, which are nothing but relabeled purolator garbage. Mann owns purolator.
Purolator is currently my number 1 garbage choice. More often than not, Purolator filter I open up will have rips and collapsed
pleats around the crimp on the paper element. I call them Tearlators.

Baldwin and Hastings also make high-quality filters. I don't know what the Honda numbers are but they can be found online. I ordered one of both to evaluate them but haven't gotten around to it.
