I know you didn't ask, but I had 160K on my '04 LX when a freak storm toppled a tree and crushed it last summer. (See my sig) It was in great shape and I had no plans to get rid of it anytime soon. The Ins Co offered me $3300 for it. I pushed back and less than 24 hours later they offered me $5200, which I accepted.

I bought my '06 EX-L last July and have put over 10K miles on it since then. I'm at about 88K right now, so it's just a kid.

I'm 1 month shy of the 1 year anniversary with my 06 EX-L. The previous (original) owner averaged about 9K miles per year. I will have doubled that average by the time I hit the 1 year anniversary and see no reason why 18-20K won't be the norm for the next few years.

On one hand, most of my miles are highway miles (my daily commute is less than 10 miles each way) since I have 2 daughters away at college and my parents live about 300 miles from me. On the other hand, a lot of those highway miles involve towing a 5 x 8 trailer since it my girls keep changing apartments and we're doing work on my parent's house. I'm always hauling furniture and/or tools. I installed a tranny cooler and a heavy duty PS cooler right after I bought the van.

I'm at 94K and the van is being dropped off tonight at an indy (ex-Honda dealer tech who opened his own shop) to have the timing belt, water pump and spark plugs changed. The tranny fluid was changed at 77K and I may do that again soon. The next big trip will be an 900 mile loop to move one daughter from an apartment in one city to a house in another city for graduate school and then onto a third a city to move my other daughter across town for her last year at grad school. When she graduates next year I'm sure I'll be moving her again, but there's no telling to where. Big life changes coming for her!

The following year my other daughter will graduate and I'm sure there will be another move, assuming there isn't one in between now and then.

Will I make it to the high 100K's or possibly 200K? I don't know. My 04 LX made it to 160K before a storm-felled tree crushed the life out of it. It also did a lot of towing (without a tranny cooler) and the tranny was replaced at about 120K. I had no plans to get rid of it, so if not for the tree, who knows how long it would have lasted.

In any case, I keep my vehicles cleaned and maintained, so I'm hope to be able to come back to this thread in 5 - 6 years and let you know that I just passed 200K. See you then!

Got me a 2005 EX-L about 3 months ago and I'm up to 98k from 95k. I'm 26 and single, and friends laugh because I always said my first car would be a mustang hehe. We got a huge family (common Hispanic family) so we always drove a minivan (Ford Windstar) that is now about 16 years old. Decided to make my first car a minivan instead and everybody laughs until they ride it. It's the most comfortable ride ever! Only issue with it was a check engine light that I fixed mysef by doing a full tune up and replacing the ignition coils (Thanks to the help I got here in the forums). Hope to ride this van until.... forever.
Tell your friends to run out to Home Depot and bring home a load of 2 x 4's in their Mustangs. See who's laughing then.

I was t-boned on the highway today and it might be the end for my odyssey. I got 659,000 good miles out of it. I'm probably looking at a 2015 odyssey this weekend. So I'm probably moving to the next generation forum. good luck everyone.
Sorry to hear that. I'd be curious to hear what the Ins Co offers you. When the 160K '04 LX pictured in my signature was totaled by a tree in July 2014, I was told by a co-worker (a former Ins Co adjuster) not to accept their first offer. She told me to ask the adjuster to escalate the estimate and try again. After the physical inspection was complete, they offered me $3300. I asked them to try again and I got a call less than 24 hours later with an offer of $5200. That's about a 60% increase in the initial offer. I suggest you try the same thing.

Let us know how it works out.

I'm finally getting my money's worth out of the 6th digit.

Let's go for a ride...

My 04 LX had 160K when it was summarily dismissed by a large tree.

My 06 EX-L is a barely an adolescent at 123K.

My 05 Taurus Wagon has 172K. (Sorry, couldn't resist)
