WTH is going on with this thing?

2010 EX-L

A couple days ago the van started having some electrical gremlins. Interior lights flickering, what sounded like a relay clicking under the right rear interior panel, then ABS and VSA lights came on.
Shut it off. On restart it just cranked and wouldn’t start
Key out and back in and it started.
Shut it off and walked away and the daytime running lights stayed on. No key in the ignition.
Battery is a 12.7v off and 13.5v while running.
Went to check for codes at Autozone and got the following.
U0029 F-CAN MALFUNCTION (BUS-OFF)
U0155 Auto AC Sub display lost communication with gauge control module

Finally, just before pulling into the house the left rear window went down on its own and won’t go back up.
Some other info.
The interior dash lights get very dim when I turn on the headlights. Like not normal dim.
The sliding doors won’t power open.
I changed the wheel bearings a couple weeks ago. Made sure the magnets where on the pickup side. All has been well until this.
Any insight?
Thanks

Relay clicking in rear interior panel suggests some water intrusion on rear fuse panel (CAN be other fuse panel though). I say check front 2 fuse panels (driver side and smaller one on passenger side) to see if there are any water issues there first before tearing into rear panel for water issues since it is easier to check. Looks like water intrusion is common enough issues for these fuse boxes.

Good luck and update us on what you can find.

+1 for one of the MICUs getting wet and the pass rear where the clicking is would be the primary suspect, though to really track it down it's best to get a wiring diagram and connect the dots so to speak. There are 4 total. One each side in the front in the outer kick panel area and one each side in the rear under the trim panels.

If you have water intrusion issues, check the roof rail body seals.
I just went through electrical issues on my 2006. After years of trying to track down water intrusion source I finally determined it was coming from the roof rail. It caused a short in my rear MICU box and that affected the rear doors closing, the rear AC, and the rear wiper. Replaced the MICU with a used unit off Ebay and also repaired the leak. I caulked the seam under the roof rail with Lexel caulk and replaced the roof rail weatherstripping with OEM product for about $60. It fixed all the issues I was having. Whether it is the rear MICU box or something else you definitely should look at the roof rail leak possibility.

Thanks all. I’m starting to take panels down. That’s a choir figuring out. I’ve had water intrusion issues for years. Usually it‘s not bad and just stains the headliner. Sometimes the leak is hard to track down but I find them. Didn’t think water could affect the van like this but hey, water and electricity don’t play nice together. I got a little of the right rear panel off and noticed a drip from somewhere. Very small collection of water in a bolt recess. The MICO did not appear wet but my trailer light controller that connects to the MICO was on the bolt recess that was collecting water. I’ll keep going and check all the MICO‘s just in case.

By the way, what does MICO stand for?

Will continue to report back.
Thanks again.

Water intrusion can do crazy stuff. Once in the middle of the night my alarm went off. I went outside and review my cameras and it just went off.by itself. I was getting water in the passenger side kick panel. Resealing the seams was the solution.

I just had a similar situation. Started out with just a random alarm going off. Then it all broke loose. Relays clicking, lights on the dash with key out, battery draining overnight. Front MICU was wet inside, even no visible moisture on the outside. Not that you need this write up that I did, but the pics reveal the water intrusion...

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry I haven’t updated, weather has been crap and I just let the van sit until I could get to it.

So I checked all the MICU’s and just the right rear had a very small amount of water and nowhere near the MICU. Either way I’ll be resealing the roof seams to stop this small about.

If the alternator is kicking out only 13.5 and it’s supposed to be over 14 than yes that is a problem.

Can someone confirm output voltage for me?

As for my issues, they cleared up after it sat. I connected the battery and it’s been acting fine. I cleared the ABS/VSA lights. No CEL, ECO is coming on as it should. Right now it looks as if nothing happened.

So my response to this will be sealing the roof rails and checking that alternator voltage.

The part replacement I used for my 2006 ex was exactly the same part number off a 2005 that I found on eBay after entering the part number in a search. The part I received was a used one and was taken off a 2005 but had the exact same part number. Seems like a paid $40-$50 for it. I just got the part number off of my old MICU and did a search on google with that part number.
