Problem:
I bought a NEW 2019 Odyssey with 5 miles on the Odometer in February of 2019 from a local Honda Dealer. In April of that year I noticed that the Liner on the Passenger side started distorting and buckling away from the Front Fender. A few months later the Driver side started distorting and buckling in a similar way.

Dealer Experience:
They played ignorant about ever seeing this issue. Even to the point of not including the details of my inquiry on the Invoice. A visit with another Local Honda Dealer was a little more understanding. They stated that all the Generation 5 Odysseys' have this issue, but the Honda Corporation has not acknowledged a repair procedure and the dealer could not proceed . I called Honda Care and started a Claim, they too had no previous knowledge of this problem.

Generalization:
Unlike most Generation 5 Odyssey Problems, this is one that is not intermittent and can be photographed. This troubles me because it outlines a flexing of the body and suspension and this points to a structural problem. Intermittent electrical issues and poor self driving don't trouble me, unless they involve the steering that lags. But its a mini van not a sports car.

My Left Front Fender Liner...……………

Sister Odyssey Left Front Fender Liner.

Conclusion:
If anyone has this problem, please add your photos to the thread, maybe Honda will acknowledge it and repair it.

I purchased my 2019 in September of 2018.
I have mudflaps installed so I would not be able to make the same observation that you all are now making. However. I can say this for absolutely sure. The fender liners were removed on mine and additional sound proofing was bonded on the back of the wheel well liners by me personally to cut down on wheel/tire and water throw noise while driving.

These wheel well liners are the flimsiest cheapest thinnest that I have ever seen on any Honda product my extended family has ever owned. We all help each other with maintenance and upgrades on our Honda's and we get to experience firsthand all the things Honda tries to hide in our vehicles. And believe me there is LOTS!!

The sliding door chrome not being flush with the front door window chrome strip is the same on my Odyssey. Even after the service manager swapped it with new ones this past summer 2019.

Shoddy

Newer generations of Odyssey use much flimsier plastic for shields and wheel well liners that my 05 has. I have seen it progress with my own eyes. Whether its done to lighten the car or make it cheaper, I don't know.
The only hope is that Honda acknowledges this as a problem and creates a better liner.
This being non-safety related issue, I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

Thank you for your response. I was thinking mudflaps would hide the issue as you pointed out. I plan on waiting to have this done until I get a feel for what Honda will offer. Interesting enough a call to Honda Care stated, "Check your Warranty, we don't cover body panels". This cannot be true ? The associate I spoke to must need more training.

The sound proofing is very intriguing. Please, if you have the time. Please instruct me on how to add more sound proofing. What material did you use ? How dis you fabricate the Installation ? Did you cut it to a shape ? What did you remove on the Odyssey to do the install ?

Thank you so much for your interest in my post.

Since I began this thread, I have searched this Web site for any other Odyssey Owners with similar issues.

To date I have found 2 others who have identified this problem by installing the Splash Guards.

Hey, who looks at this part of the car. Their links are listed below, for those who are interested.

1 - Splash Guard Gap

2 - 2018/2019 Splash Guards are a joke
