We were traveling and the TCS light and check engine light both came on. We stopped and restarted the van and the TCS went out but not the check engine light. We have checked the gas cap and the light will not go out. Any suggestions?
Like New Dad New Van said, use the search feature of this site and look for posts pertaining to both the codes Autozone gave you. IIRC P1676 is PCM related and a pain in the rear to get rid of sometimes but just search and read up.mylo said:Autozone ran the test and the codes were P1676 & P0740 does anyone know what that means?
I'd be more confident if his D4 light flashed along with the TCS and CEL for a doomed tranny......like mine did at 102K. The incidences of factory replaced 99-01 trannys must be coming near a end by now????New Dad New Van said:Take to your Honda dealer to seek Extended Warranty on the transmission or Goodwill if outside the 109,000 miles or 7 yrs 9 mos.
Mine coded PO740 with the ABS, CEL, and D4 flashing. With restart only CEL remained. Tranny ran perfectly for the weekend awaiting arrival of replacement. Dealer basically stipulated it was going to fail very soon thereafter hence the pro active repair plan.William Wiles said:The problems you are seeing are not simple problems to fix. The P1676 is an internal PCM problem and if it comes back immediately after reset it is 99.9 percent chance you will need a new PCM and you will have to determine if you have enough ability to replace it. The P0740 Is a lock up problem in the torque converter and will probably need a new transmission. Reset the codes and if the light comes back on have the codes read to determine if one or both are coming back on.
Fuse panel is at the passenger right foot panel, and I recall it is labeled, "clock" something? Just make sure it IS #13.mylo said:Can you tell me what Fuse #13 is listed as. Everyone on here is saying that fuse has fixed their door problems. Is it under the hood or in the van?
We were traveling in stop and start traffic and the TCS and check engine light came on. We stopped and when we restarted the car the TCS light went out but not the check engine light. Didn't know if something is really wrong or just a fluke, since the traffic. The van seems to be running fine.
Try this, turn the ignition to the position when the dash lights go on, and watch the CEL light, if it stays lit for about 10 seconds WITHOUT flashing, then you should be OK...if not count the flashes and let us know how many....mylo said:Thanks. Found the fuse last night and the CEL is now off. It stayed off on the way to work but we will see how long that lasts.
Sorry but, if the D4 flashes and the tranny slips or seems like it is in "limp" mode along with your current scenario....it will be tranny change out time. Hopefully it will occur sooner than later? Good luck!bmamo said:While driving on the fwy last night the CEL and TCS came on again and upon restart the TCS went away while the CEL stayed. Pulled the only code which is P0740. No other lights flashed including D4 and van drove home fine 100 miles or so.
Unsure if its related to the last trip to the dealer when they replaced the IACV and a few days later the CEL and TCS came on the first time.
I havent noticed any trans slippage or other hesitation either. So will keep an eye and see what happens next.
Not too keen to take it to the dealer right now unless the van acts up. With 01 tranny recall, I have another year and lots of miles in case of a tranny failure.
Any suggestions?
