Doubt it, not sure anyone would be able to get to the 3rd row if the 2nd row was a bench. Ody is a 7 passenger vehicle, so no provisions for an 8th seat belt. 3rd gens had a jump seat, but don't think the 2nd gens did. Also, I'm only assuming the jump seat is what you seek, maybe I just don't know what a jump seat is. Wonder if the 3rd gen seat would clip into the 2nd gen?

The middle row bench seat was an available option for 1999 Odysseys made in Canada, but I do not know when Honda stopped offering this. 2001? It was only available with the Canadian LX trim level.

The middle row bench and it's removal/installation appear in my Honda 1999-2004 Odyssey shop manual. My guess is that nobody purchased these, as it made it a bit more difficult to gain access to the third row bench.

Also, as far as I can tell, the diagram shows a bench that has only two seat belts. Essentially, it makes the van a 4-passenger vehicle...which is something I wouldn't mind, as I've had the 3rd bench folded up and have been mostly hauling stuff with my 2003 EX.

Thanks very much for the responses. A friend just texted me and said that Honda sells some sort of seat that fits between the 2 captain's chairs. Anyone ever heard of that?

 

Yes, but I don't think that started until 2005.

I think they must have changed something in the mounts between 2004 and 2005.

I have a 2004 that I bought used from the dealer. It had a spare console laying in the back cargo area when I bought it. After I bought it and got it home I realized it didn't fit. Did some googling and found it was for a 2005 and up. 2005+ you could get a console or a jump seat that would fit between the 2 captains chairs.

 

Our gman is correct. The floor mounts changed between 2004 (Gen 2) & 2005 (Gen 3). I tried to fit that Gen 3 "in between seat" into the 2nd row of our 2003, and found there is one more mount necessary to make this happen.

I.e., we can only use the two supplied 2nd row bucket seats in the 1999-2004 Odysseys.
