I have not been able to find any 5w-20 oil in stock in my area (in Mobil 1), but can find 5W-30. Interested in opinions regarding using the -30.

I'm still doing what the other guys do...if it's on sale, stock up.

5W20 or 5W30 Mobil 1....don't care, I just get whatever is on sale. Can't discern a difference in MPG between the two viscosities. My Odysseys will disintegrate around an operating engine with compression still in the middle of what it's supposed to be. Just finished a 3,000+ mile road trip in our 2002. Up and down the southern Rockies, up and down the Cajon pass. Cruise speeds varied; sometimes had to keep it down at 65mph, otherwise was able to hold 75 mph to 78 mph all day long on several legs between stops. 6 people, 21 cubic foot roof cargo box on our roof rails (Yakima's biggest).

Did the math on every fillup; 22 mpg was the worst on California ethanol-laced ARCO trash fuel. 27 mpg was the best recorded on this trip using Shell pure gasoline in Albuquerque.

I can't wait until Honda starts using 0W-10 synthetic oil in vehicles in the US, so we can have another oil viscosity debate all over again. :)

For those of you who have not seen this video yet, then here you go:
