We have a 2018 Honda Accord XLE and a 2019 Honda Odyssey XLE. If we leqve the key inside the Accord [including the trunk] the car cannot be locked. However, if we leave a key inside the Odyssey the doors CAN BE LOCKED. This dosent seem right and I can't find a setting to change this behsvior. Anyone else experiencing this ? Solutions ?

How are you locking the doors?
I believe the fob can be locked inside by either:
  • pressing the lock button on the driver's door and closing it
  • removing the key from the fob and inserting in the driver's door and turning.

Otherwise, the doors shouldn't lock if the door/tailgate lock button is pressed.

The usual sequence is:
exit the vehicle leaving the key behind inside either in the door pocket, cup holder or in purse].
time goes by ......
retiring for the day or otherwise done driving Odyssey for the day.
use K2 to lock Odyssey, door locks with typical noise [after pressing lock on k2 remote once] and beep [after pressing lock on k2 remote a second time].

key1 still inside, in any case we don't usually check to see where K1 is when we lock up for the day.

Time goes by .....
Next day we go looking for key1 that we did not intentionally leave inside the Odyssey.
We discover key1 is MIA ..... we go to the Odyssey and find that it is locked ....
We get key2, the Odyssey unlocks when key2 unlock is pressed or the door handle is touched.
after unlock, open door, close door [with K1 inside and K2 in hand], hear 2 beeps, walk away, come back without K2 in hand and cannot LOCK door with button on door handle.

XLE is a Toyota Trim. Honda does not have XLE.

Do you mean EX-L?
