Rotating your tires with out your okay is pretty silly.
But it is hard to help people sometimes. One customer will say "Why didn't you wash my car", the next one will say "I didn't give you my ok to wash my car". You can't please all the people all of the time.
But like I said, rotation should only be done on request. It's like an oil change. Don't change someone's oil with out their okay. What if the use syn oil??
Exactly....I could care less if they wash the Oddy..Someone has to do it. As far as my other cars..I specifically tell them to write it on the order (DO NOT WASH)

But those cars never need a wash when they go in for service;)

Here's an interesting corollary . . .

I was at my local Honda dealer for service and a woman came in with her boyfriend. The boyfriend was sort of questioning why they had to replace the brake pads on her Accord. "I just replaced them last month" was his statement. The service advisor whom I've known for a while and who has treated me very well at this dealership said "they were worn to the sensors and they needed to be replaced". Old parts were brought out, hands were rung, heads were shaking - finally, turns out Mr. Boyfriend admitted that he might've changed the brake pads on someone else's car. Man, you should've seen the fight and tears in the parking lot - I wonder which girlfriend's brakes he fixed? :)

I've yet had any honda or acura dealer wash my car when it's in for service :(
Unless the dealership if fairly new, most Honda and Acura dealers do not have a drive thur car wash like the newer stores do.
Such is the case with our (28 year old) dealership.
We only do free car washes on request.

The other day I had to wait a really long time to get a service advisor's attention. The problem; a blonde haired, 20-something drop-dead-gorgeous woman in a sharp pin-striped black skirt and jacket was discussing service work to be done to her S2000. It took 5 service writers to make sure they understood what she was saying. Ha, like any of those guys had any kind of chance with her!

The free car wash is one of the reasons I go to the dealer. Come on folks it's a minivan.
Are you sure it's NOT a simple hose down??

Had my car over at a Subaru dealer and when it looked like it was done, I commented to the service advisor "Looks like they're done". He said 'Not yet--they gotta wash it". I watched them wash the car--just a hosedown.

At our dealer we hand wash and dry the outside and vacuum the inside but on request only. All for free.

You know us service advisors do have groupies.

I always get a free coupon for a drive in car wash which is almost the works, everytime I have my car serviced.

Steam Clean

Has anyone been told by the service advisor:

Your engine/compartment was dirty so we Steamed Cleaned it - no charge?
They even put that stuff that makes plastic look new on to the hoses and other areas.
This happened to me about a year ago.
The outside of my vehicle was dirty but nothing was said about that? I suspect anomaly.
Has anyone else have an explerience like this?

Speaking of Steam Cleaning - check this site:

It sounds to me like they made a mess and cleaned it up for you. They should have been honest with you about it.

Or Bob the Service Advisor came along and bumped into a jug of opened antifreeze sitting on the radiator....
