Thanks for Posting...! I installed em on my 2015. The DRL are also a nice upgrade bulb #9005. Those bulbs are a little hard to get to. Got to yank battery out. High beams "DRL" work Great too! Nice bright and white. Will be doing my fogs next. :)

these are from my volvo, but you get the idea...needless to say, i use 4500k hids in the odyssey.

halogen:

led (looks deceiving very bright, especially in front of the car, but if you look at red gate at the end of the driveway, it's not much better than halogen, and it definitely throws glare in stock halogen housing):

hid (with bi-xenon retrofit):

Does the LED provides better / more light coverage in front of the van, not just distance?

I would be happy if the LED can give me more light coverage than stock but has the same throw. I just hate the stock bulb cause I can't see well enough when going on a freeway on ram ...

I don't think aftermarket LEDs for headlights is the way to go. if you want coverage and throw, HID retrofit.

So if I use the 9005 LED bulb for the head beam / DLR, when it DLR mode, it still gets half bright like stock?

Also does it have noticeable PWM / flickering when in DLR mode (depends on if the half brightness in DLR is current modulated or PWM modulated)?

Some review also mentioned the high beam doesn't throw as far as the stock bulb, I wonder if that's the case for people that has converted the van's high beam to LED.

I have these 9005 for DRL/high and they are dual brightness, with very slight/negligible flicker in DRL mode. It looks very clean and couldn't be happier.
I would agree that they don't throw as far as stock and that the beam is not as "tight" as stock. The photos on post #25 above do a good job conveying exactly what I see.
Also, you'll get the DRL warning light if you don't use resistors.

I'm no guru when it comes to LEDs in high beams but don't you lose your ability to use the high beams? The voltage is more than what the LED needs or requires.

The XenonDepot LED Headlight kits are designed to be brighter than your standard halogen bulb. They work great as a low beam, high beam and DRL upgrade as they provide more light.

As far as the high beam and DRL is concerned, you would need to install a Canbus Fix so that they run correctly in DRL mode. The Canbus simply goes between the LED bulb connection and your factory harness. Because the LED bulbs are brighter you do not lose any brightness when you turn the high beams on.

Hope that helps.

I went with JDM Astar LED kit from Amazon (i have prime) Pics here. #9
But i am not happy with the throw length and coverage. i feel the LED light intensity is not enough, Phillips crystal vision was better. The length of the flood is also less, so i see less distance ahead of me, Wonder if XD has a superior light than what i bought.
I am not considering 4500 LM H11 from VLED. But overall not at all happy with the result. I expected way better results.

Hi Steve,
Does the LED's on XD make a difference ? I noticed that XD uses phillips LED's , I installed JDM astar LED headlight kit from Amazon for both low beams and high beams , i am not happy with low beams the spread and length are not as much as halogen. From the above pics this doesn't seem like the issue with your kit.

Reviving thread... Wondering how the LED held up in the long term use. Also, I've been reading the they run "hotter" so Im wondering if it has any effect to the actual headlight housing. Burn marks, darkening etc.

These things are great. Haven't seen any issues since they have been installed. Have driven in terrible weather in the mountains and in really bad fog at night and they were fantastic. I don't know what I would have done if the OEM lights were still there. Haven't noticed if they do run hotter, wasn't aware there was an issue for heat. Where did you see this? But they haven't melted anything that I know of yet. LEDs don't run as hot as halogen lights but then again are you referring to the back of the bulb?

Cousin has great experience with Xenon led bulbs too, no melt or burn in almost a year now. Maybe unless if you got cheaper quality led lights with smaller wiring/harness that are prone to burn.

Thing is with these compared to other LED bulb on the market when I was buying was the metal mesh that is fanned out to ensure proper cooling. Others out there look so much bulkier and doesn't look like they dissipate heat as well as these do. Then again it is hard to tell how hot they get since I haven't actually measured or touched them when they have been on for a long time.
