2005 EX-L bought with 112k. Currently at 133k and have since done a timing belt (everything!) change, a/c compressor, power steering pump, front and rear hydraulic engine mounts (aftermarket) and I've switched to Valvoline ATF Maxlife for the transmission. So far, so good on the tranny!

235k on my '06 EX-L. Mobil 1 Oil + Filt every 5k (probably a waste), 3X trans drain and fill every 30k(not a waste), 2 tires every 35k (i dont rotate), T-belt at 123k (getting ready for another). its been sweet.
Mobil1 is a waste due to them using a cheaper synthetic (If you can even call it that anymore)........filter you can use whatever you want lol and change interval depends on driving habit.
Great job ont he 3x3 every 30k, which fluid are you using?

I just picked up an '08 EX-L with 78K and, at 66 years old, I think I plan to drive it 'till I die. I also plan to live long and prosper!

I also have an '01 EX van we bought in '05 with 70K. No real issues. All I ever did to the trans was pray. At 251,000 I pray more since it's starting to shift hard. Now I'm afraid to mess with fluid change as I don"t want to start dislodging stuff and suffer a real failure. We will be replacing it soon, I hope.

05 Touring ... over 220k ... first spark plug change done at 182k, timing belt/water pump at 195k ... my only problem is the oil consumption since we bought it new. I'll be driving on the freeway and every once in a while I'll have a massive cloud of blue smoke come out the exhaust. It's enough to make people following slow down and any mosquitoes within a 5 mile radius take cover. I'd almost guess that a rocker cover is filling up with oil and the pcv system is sucking in a lung full (maybe a teaspoon).

275,000 on my 2005.
You're winning so far! How often do you change your oil and transmission fluid?

While it is not my van, the statistics are impressive nonetheless....

My coworker has 268,000 on his 2005 Touring. Other than depaxing to take care of the little tire problem he has had no work needed other than routine maintenance. He is quite aggressive with his fluid replacements and has gone through the van's weight in transmission fluid. He has used Mobil 1 since the first oil change and switched to Mobil 1 transmission fluid as soon as his warranty period ended.

First generation VCM with no consumption issues and the pre-2007 strengthened 5 speed auto.

He provides yet another example of a Honda worked hard and thriving on transmission fluid other than Z1 or DW-1.
Also awesome. How often does your coworker change his oil and trans fluid?

I'm 1 month shy of the 1 year anniversary with my 06 EX-L. The previous (original) owner averaged about 9K miles per year. I will have doubled that average by the time I hit the 1 year anniversary and see no reason why 18-20K won't be the norm for the next few years.

On one hand, most of my miles are highway miles (my daily commute is less than 10 miles each way) since I have 2 daughters away at college and my parents live about 300 miles from me. On the other hand, a lot of those highway miles involve towing a 5 x 8 trailer since it my girls keep changing apartments and we're doing work on my parent's house. I'm always hauling furniture and/or tools. I installed a tranny cooler and a heavy duty PS cooler right after I bought the van.

I'm at 94K and the van is being dropped off tonight at an indy (ex-Honda dealer tech who opened his own shop) to have the timing belt, water pump and spark plugs changed. The tranny fluid was changed at 77K and I may do that again soon. The next big trip will be an 900 mile loop to move one daughter from an apartment in one city to a house in another city for graduate school and then onto a third a city to move my other daughter across town for her last year at grad school. When she graduates next year I'm sure I'll be moving her again, but there's no telling to where. Big life changes coming for her!

The following year my other daughter will graduate and I'm sure there will be another move, assuming there isn't one in between now and then.

Will I make it to the high 100K's or possibly 200K? I don't know. My 04 LX made it to 160K before a storm-felled tree crushed the life out of it. It also did a lot of towing (without a tranny cooler) and the tranny was replaced at about 120K. I had no plans to get rid of it, so if not for the tree, who knows how long it would have lasted.

In any case, I keep my vehicles cleaned and maintained, so I'm hope to be able to come back to this thread in 5 - 6 years and let you know that I just passed 200K. See you then!
