guy i just got 40k miles on my 1 year old 2023 sport. technican guy over here informes me to do transmission fuild replace otherwise it would be a problem sooner or later. cost is 150$ for it. I still dont know why i need transmission fuild replaced like he says so because I believe honda has lifetime transmission fluid or replace it at 90k miles. Should I blindly listen to my dearly technican ? Thank you

45-50k is a pretty good time for first drain just to get the initial break-in fluid and material out.
If this was so important, then Honda would have this accounted for in the maintenance minder, which is exactly what happens in my 2018 CRV.

The code for the first rear differential fluid change appears around 15K miles, (for the reasons stated above), then intervals increase to approx. 45K miles.

The fluid change for the CVT transmission is similar. The code for the first change comes early (not as early as rear diff), then the interval is stretched out for future changes.

Now that is truly funny. 😂

I mostly agree with the above (except the white paint and ZF9), but I'm not too harsh on them for a lot of it like VCM, GDI, and the turbos, since there are deeper issues that have led to that.

There have been some accusations that I might be a "Honda schill" or "Honda fanboy". To dispel these rumors, I thought I would share the current vehicles in my fleet, newest to oldest:

Not pictured is a Honda HRX self-propelled lawnmower.

At this point, I would like to pause for a moment of silence and "pour one out" for our 2018 Honda Odyssey. This vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly departed from our garage. The unofficial diagnosis was a failing connecting rod bearing. Our van was not part of the recall.

So, hopefully this shows that I am not aligned with any particular brand of vehicle. I definitely am not a Honda fanboy.

Wait. What? You are posting ALL Honda vehicles but saying you aren't a Honda fanboy? I'd be darned. :D

Kidding aside, all I said was you trust Honda a bit too much (which is true). That does not translate to Honda fanboy and definitely not to a Honda Schill.
